Red Dragon Shop

Red Dragon's whole proposition is getting tour-grade machining to club players at a price they can actually justify. The barrels four world champions throw are here — and so is an 85% tungsten range that costs a fraction of them and plays better than its price suggests.

The (SP) confusion, settled

This is the detail most retailers get wrong. A Red Dragon barrel marked (SP) carries Switch Pointnot Target's Swiss Point. The reason Switch Point is shared with Winmau is that both brands sit under the same parent, Nodor. Practically: Switch Point belongs to the M2.5 thread family, and Red Dragon markets it as compatible with the other major M2.5 systems including Target Swiss Point, Harrows Quick Points and Caliburn Evo EZ. So you can change point length, finish or grip in seconds without new barrels and without being locked to one brand.

85% or 90% — where the money goes

The Javelin family and the Razor Edge and Confessions sets sit at 85% tungsten; the signature ranges run at 90%. Lower tungsten means a marginally wider barrel at the same weight. That matters when you are routinely putting three darts in one treble, and is close to imperceptible before then. Between the two sit Paradym, Recon, Ascend and Amp — the same machining, no player name, a keener price. Browse Red Dragon darts.

Nitro Flite and the rest of the kit

Nitro Flite is Red Dragon's integrated flight system — flight and stem as one moulded unit — supplied with Switch Point sets and sold separately in shapes including No.2 and Kite. See flights, shafts, points, dartboards, accessories and clothing.

Worth a look

The Sable series — 01 Parallel, 02 Torpedo and 03 Bomb, three barrel shapes on one platform, which makes it an unusually clean way to work out which profile suits you. Plus the 50 Year Anniversary editions and the latest releases.

Four world champions

Luke Humphries (2024), Gerwyn Price (2021), Peter Wright (2020 and 2022), plus Jonny Clayton and 2026 finalist Gian van Veen.

Frequently Asked Questions

▶ Does (SP) on a Red Dragon dart mean Swiss Point?

No. On Red Dragon it means Switch Point, the system they share with Winmau because both sit under Nodor. Same M2.5 thread family as Swiss Point, different technology.

▶ Is 85% tungsten a compromise?

Only marginally. It gives a slightly wider barrel at the same weight, which matters mainly once you are grouping three darts into one treble. The Javelin range is genuinely good value.

▶ What is Nitro Flite?

Red Dragon's integrated flight system — flight and shaft moulded as one unit rather than assembled from two parts.

▶ Do I need a tool to change Switch Points?

Yes, but a small point tool rather than a repointing machine — and many Switch Point sets, including the Sables, ship with one in the box.
