Red Dragon Launch

The latest Red Dragon releases — the current wave of Welsh-made barrels, headed by Luke Humphries' TX5.

What's in this drop

Beyond the TX5, the release brings four performance families in 90% tungsten, most offered in both barrel profiles so you can pick on grip rather than compromise: Paradym Gold in Parallel and Torpedo, Recon in Parallel and Torpedo, Ascend Torpedo and Amp Torpedo.

Parallel or torpedo?

A parallel barrel is the same diameter end to end, so your grip finds the same feel wherever it lands — forgiving if your fingers wander. A torpedo swells towards the front, concentrating mass ahead of your hand, which suits players who grip forward and want the dart to feel like it's pulling into the board.

Several Red Dragon barrels are also available in Switch Point (SP) versions for interchangeable points — see the May 2026 Switch Point release and Switch Points.

Frequently Asked Questions

▶ What's new about the TX5?

It's the latest generation of Humphries' signature line, which has run from the TX1 onwards. Compare grip and weight against the earlier TX barrels rather than assuming the newest suits you best.

▶ What are Paradym, Recon, Ascend and Amp?

Non-signature performance ranges — Red Dragon's own designs without a player name, which usually means a keener price for comparable machining.

▶ Do these take interchangeable points?

Only the versions marked (SP). The standard editions use conventional fixed points.
