Dart Points

Every dart point we stock — interchangeable threaded systems, conventional replacements, and every length and finish in between.

Start here: which system do you have?

Points divide into two families. Press-fit points are pressed into a smooth barrel bore and need a repointing machine to change. Threaded points screw in, change in seconds with a small tool, and are marked on the barrel — SP, QP or Switch Point. The threaded systems share an M2.5 thread, and Winmau and Red Dragon market their Switch Point barrels as universally compatible with Target Swiss Point, Harrows Quick Points and Caliburn Evo EZ Points; Target states its own Swiss Points are designed for Target SP barrels. Check your barrel maker's guidance when crossing brands.

Frequently Asked Questions

▶ What length point should I use?

Most players sit between 26mm and 35mm. Longer points push weight forward, which changes the angle the dart sits at and how it feels leaving the hand — the cheapest meaningful experiment in darts.

▶ Can I convert press-fit darts to a threaded system?

No — the barrel has to be manufactured with the thread. If you want quick-change points, you need a barrel marked for one of the systems.

▶ How often should points be replaced?

When they bend, blunt or burr. A damaged point costs you accuracy and chews the board — far cheaper to replace than to play around.

▶ Do textured points really cut bounce-outs?

They help the tip bite sisal instead of skating off it, so they can reduce deflections — though a worn board or a wire strike will still bounce a dart regardless.
