L-Style Flights

L-Style flights — Japanese moulded flights that hold a true 90 degrees for their entire life, in the EZ, Fantom, Dimple and L-System ranges.

Why moulded flights are different

A folded flight is a flat sheet creased into shape, and it starts drifting away from 90 degrees the moment you use it. L-Style flights are moulded from a single piece of plastic, so the angle between the wings is set in manufacture and stays there — which is the whole argument for them. They also last considerably longer than folded flights, offsetting the higher price per set.

The Champagne Ring, and why EZ matters

L-Style's ring sits over the top of the shaft and clamps the flight to it. That does three things: it tightens the flight-to-shaft coupling, it protects the shaft tines from splitting, and it makes a "Robin Hood" — another dart's point burying into your shaft — far less likely.

The distinction worth knowing before you order: EZ flights have the Champagne Ring already built in, so they go straight from packet to shaft. The Pro and Champagne flights take a ring that's inserted separately. Everything in this collection marked EZ is ready to use as supplied.

Shapes stocked

L1 is the standard shape — maximum stability. L3 is the smaller standard, flying a little faster and flatter. Fantom uses a thicker material for extra durability and a straighter path; Dimple adds a textured surface.

Frequently Asked Questions

▶ What shafts do L-Style flights need?

Nylon or plastic shafts — including L-Style's own and most other brands'. They aren't intended for aluminium stems, so check what you're currently using before ordering.

▶ Do I need to buy rings separately?

Not for EZ flights — the ring is integrated. Pro and Champagne flights need a Champagne Ring inserted before fitting.

▶ Are they worth the extra cost?

If you get through folded flights quickly, usually yes — one moulded flight outlasts several folded ones and never needs re-setting to 90 degrees.

▶ L1 or L3?

L1 for maximum stability and a steeper landing angle; L3 for a slightly quicker, flatter flight. Heavier darts and lobbed throws generally suit L1.
