Two families, one decision

Conventional flights fold from flat and slot into a separate stem. They're cheap, endlessly varied, and easy to replace — but they can work loose, drop out, and lose their 90-degree set over time.

Integrated systems mould the flight and shaft into one part that threads straight into the barrel. Nothing to fall out, and the flight angle stays put. Target's K-Flex is the established one — precision-moulded, universal 2BA thread, with a patented twist that lets the unit move when another dart strikes it. K-Shift is the newer evolution: a lightweight aluminium shaft base with radial grip grooves, a rubber O-ring and 2BA thread, and a connection engineered to flex and shift on impact rather than deflect hard — built to let incoming darts nestle in rather than get pushed out. Choosing a shape

Bigger flights create more drag: the dart slows sooner, the nose lifts, and the landing angle steepens. Smaller flights fly faster and flatter and are less forgiving of a wobbly release.

  • No.2 / Standard — the default. Most stability, most forgiveness, suits heavier darts and lobbed throws.
  • No.6 — slightly smaller. A touch less drag, a flatter path, popular with faster throwers.
  • Kite, Pear, Slim — progressively less surface, for players who throw hard and want the dart to get there.

Frequently Asked Questions

▶ Will an integrated system fit my darts?

K-Flex and K-Shift both use the universal 2BA thread, which covers the vast majority of steel-tip and soft-tip barrels. They replace your flight and shaft together, so you don't need a stem.

▶ K-Flex or K-Shift?

K-Flex is the lighter, fully moulded original. K-Shift adds an aluminium base and a connection designed to shift on impact, aimed squarely at players whose good darts get knocked out by the next one.

▶ How often should flights be changed?

As soon as a wing splits, creases or won't sit square. A tired flight changes trajectory long before it looks unusable — which is why most players buy multipacks of one design.

▶ Do bigger flights fix wobbling darts?

Often, yes — more surface stabilises a dart that's fishtailing. But wobble usually starts in the release, so treat flight size as a compensation, not a cure.
