Description

Mission - Force 90 Vortex Kite

A kite flight and shaft moulded as one piece

The Kite is the tightest shape in the Force 90 Vortex family. Less sail than a standard flight means less drag and less lift, so the dart carries a flatter, quicker line to the board and settles rather than floating at the end of its flight. It is the shape to reach for if you throw hard, if your darts kick up as they arrive, or if you want three darts occupying as little room as possible in a treble bed.

Ninety degrees, held under fire

The number in Force 90 is the angle. A conventional flight pushed into a shaft can splay open or close up as the night goes on, and once the fins stop sitting square to each other the dart stops flying the same way twice. Mission mould the Vortex as a single piece of high-grade composite so the fins hold a true ninety degrees to one another through play — and the composite keeps enough flex to take a hit from the dart behind without creasing.

Nothing to work loose

One moulding means no flight protector, no spring, no shaft collar quietly unwinding mid-leg. There is a textured grip zone along the stem for players who hold further back, and a standard 2BA thread so it goes straight into most barrels. When it eventually gives up you replace flight and shaft together, which is a cleaner way to keep three darts matched than chasing one tired flight at a time.

Black or white, three lengths

We stock the Kite in black and in white, each in short, intermediate (Mission's "tweenie") and medium. Length moves the balance: short pulls weight forward and suits a front-loaded barrel, medium pushes it back and lends stability to a slower throw, and intermediate is the middle ground most players land on. Mission build the Kite in blue and red as well, so ask if you want a colour we are not holding.

Kite or Standard No.2?

Most players start on a standard and only move once something is bothering them. If your darts are landing high or drifting, the Kite's smaller profile will calm that down; if they are dropping short or feeling unstable, you want the extra lift of the Force 90 Vortex No.2, which we hold in nine colours across the same three lengths. For a shape between the two, the Force 90 Flight System No.6 is worth a look, and the Force 90 Flight System Slim goes smaller again if the Kite still feels like too much sail.
