Description

Mission - Mantis - 95% Tungsten Darts (RP)

Controlled in the hand, decisive on release

Mantis takes its cue from the praying mantis: patient, precise and quick when it counts. It is a compact 95% tungsten torpedo from Mission's R2.5 range, centre weighted and 50mm long, finished in black and green electro plate. It comes in 22g and 24g.

Front and rear that feel different

Fine radial grooves run along the tapered front for light, precise feedback. A smooth milled spiral band sits in the middle, and behind it a black Suji grip zone gives the rear fingers something firmer to settle into. Because the two ends feel so different, it is easy to find the same hold throw after throw. We would put the overall grip at a medium 3/5.

Where it sits in the range

Mantis is the most balanced of the new Mission torpedoes. Astro pushes the weight forward with a firmer rear grip, and Neptune is the 90% tungsten option with flowing wave cuts and more weights to choose from.

Ready to throw, easy to change

Every set comes ready to throw with Mission's Force 90 Vortex No.6 one-piece flights and shafts, plus two sets of R2.5 Rapid Points: 35mm silver SG2 points fitted and a 30mm black SG2 set as a spare. They screw into the 2.5mm thread and tighten with the R2.5 tool in the box. If you want something grippier at the board, GV1, RVX and DSX R2.5 points all fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What comes with the Mission Mantis?

Three Mantis 95% tungsten barrels, three black Force 90 Vortex No.6 one-piece flights and shafts, 35mm silver SG2 R2.5 Rapid Points fitted, a spare set of 30mm black SG2 points and the R2.5 tightening tool.

What weights does the Mission Mantis come in?

22g and 24g. Both are 50mm long, at 6.7mm and 7.1mm wide.

What is the Suji grip on the Mantis?

It is the textured black machining at the rear of the barrel. It feels firmer than the fine grooves at the front, so your rear fingers have a clear place to sit.

Is the Mantis front or centre weighted?

Centre weighted. It is a compact torpedo shape that sits evenly in the hand.
