Switch Point: what (SP) means

Barrels marked (SP) carry Switch Point, Red Dragon and Winmau's interchangeable point technology — not Target's Swiss Point, though the two share a thread family. Switch Point uses an M2.5 thread, and Red Dragon markets it as universally compatible with the other major M2.5 systems including Target Swiss Point, Harrows Quick Points and Caliburn Evo EZ Points. Points change in seconds with a small tool rather than a repointing machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

▶ Is 85% tungsten good enough?

Yes for most players. It's marginally wider than 90% at the same weight, which only really matters when you're grouping three darts into one treble consistently. The Javelin range is a genuinely strong starting point.

▶ Does (SP) mean Target Swiss Point?

No — on a Red Dragon barrel it means Switch Point, their own system with Winmau. Red Dragon markets it as compatible with Swiss Point among other M2.5 systems.

▶ Are Red Dragon and Winmau connected?

They share the Switch Point technology across their ranges, and Red Dragon's own site directs some international orders to Winmau.

▶ Which barrel shape should I choose?

Parallel if you grip along the barrel, torpedo if you grip forward and like nose-heavy weight, bomb if your fingers group tightly. Compare in straight, torpedo and bomb.
