The Dancing Duck 4.0 is the latest evolution of Target Japan's collaboration with renowned Japanese player Yuya Higuchi — a Black Marque model that's earned a cult following through four generations. It's a dart built for serious matchplay: 90% tungsten, tuned for the balance of weight and stability that Higuchi demands at competition level.

Layered grip on a tapered 49.7mm barrel

The tapered, centre-balanced barrel runs a central cut design that guarantees firm purchase where most players grip, then layers large, small and shark ring cuts through the rear for stability and comfort as the dart leaves your hand. It's a 4/5 grip spread across the full 49.7mm length — grippier than the Lumiere 3.0, less aggressive in feel than the dragon-scale Draco, and unusually consistent in diameter (7.50mm in both weights).

Why the 30mm points matter

Most steel points run 26mm; the Dancing Duck ships with 30mm Nano Swiss Points. The extra 4mm shifts the dart's overall length and lets the point bury deeper into the sisal — Higuchi's preference for heavy 24–25g barrels that need maximum board hold. If it's not yours, the Swiss Point system means you're not stuck with it: the included tool exchanges points in seconds, so you can run 26mm one night and 30mm the next (extra tools here).
