Description

Scolia - Home 1 Flex Automatic Scoring System (With Spark Light Ring)

Three cameras, and you never write a score again

Scolia Home Flex reads every dart the moment it lands. Three cameras mounted around the board triangulate the tip position to millimetre accuracy, and the score appears instantly in the browser-based Scolia app on whatever screen you have to hand - phone, tablet, laptop or TV. No chalking, no mental arithmetic, no arguing over whether that was a 19 or a 3. You throw, you collect, you throw again.

Identical hardware - only the plan changes

Flex is not a cut-down system. It uses the same cameras, the same processing unit, the same Scolia Spark light ring and the same app, with the same game modes, online play, tournaments, training routines and software updates as the unlimited Scolia Home. The only difference is how you pay for the throws. Flex units are finished in blue rather than black so they are easy to tell apart.

1,000 throws a month included

Every month you get 1,000 throws at no cost, which is comfortably enough for most players throwing a few nights a week. If you reach the limit you can finish the game you are in, and the counter resets on the first of the next month. Want more? Scolia's Unlimited Plan is available monthly, quarterly or annually directly from Scolia, and you can cancel it at any time. If you would rather pay once and never think about it again, the standard Home 1 gives you unlimited play with no subscription.

The Spark light ring is part of the package

This is the complete Flex system, supplied with the Scolia Spark light surround rather than the camera unit on its own. Spark is a 360-degree LED ring that sits behind the surround and floods the board with even, shadow-free light - which is what the cameras need to see cleanly, and what makes the board a pleasure to play on in a garage or a spare room. It is also fully colour-adjustable from the app, so the ring reacts to the game as you play it.

Fifteen minutes on the wall

The system fixes to the wall around your existing board using three T-shaped brackets and the supplied fixings. Everything is pre-calibrated in software, so once it is mounted the app walks you through a short automatic calibration and you are playing. There are no lasers to align and no measurements to get right beyond hanging the board at the regulation height.

What it works with

Scolia Home Flex is designed around a standard 18-inch bristle dartboard with a traditional white metal number ring, which covers the overwhelming majority of boards sold. The Winmau Blade 6 Triple Core and the Unicorn Eclipse Pro have limited support because of their darker number rings; Target Aspar-style rings are not supported. Browse the rest of our boards and rigs, or step up to the newer Scolia Home 2 Flex.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens when I use up my 1,000 throws?

You can finish the game you are in, but you will not be able to start a new one until the counter resets on the first day of the next month. If you want to keep playing straight away, Scolia's Unlimited Plan is available monthly, quarterly or annually directly from Scolia and can be cancelled at any time.

Is the hardware different from the standard Scolia Home?

No. Flex uses the same three cameras, the same processing unit, the same Scolia Spark light ring and the same app, with identical game modes, online play and software updates. Only the way you pay for throws changes. Flex processing units are finished in blue rather than black.

Is 1,000 throws a month enough?

For most home players, yes. A single 501 leg uses roughly 20 to 25 darts, so 1,000 throws is somewhere around 40 to 50 legs a month - comfortably a couple of sessions a week. If you practise daily or run long training routines you will likely want the unlimited plan, or the standard Home 1 instead.

Do I need a dartboard and surround as well?

Yes. Scolia Home is the scoring system and the Spark light ring only - the dartboard and the dartboard surround are bought separately. You need a standard 18-inch steel-tip bristle board with a traditional white metal number ring, and a surround for the Spark ring to sit behind.

Does it need a wired internet connection?

Yes. The Scolia Home processing unit connects to your router by LAN cable rather than WiFi, and a cable is supplied in the box. If running a cable to your board is difficult, a powerline adapter or a small mains-powered access point in bridge mode will do the job.

Which dartboards are supported?

Any standard bristle board with a traditional white metal number ring is fully supported, which covers most boards on the market. The Winmau Blade 6 Triple Core and the Unicorn Eclipse Pro have limited support because of their darker rings, and Target Aspar-style number rings are not supported.
