The key to the CP system

Bull's Convertible Point system lets you unscrew the point from the barrel and put a different one in — a different length, a different colour, a different grip texture, or simply a fresh one when the old point has had enough. This is the tool that does it: a compact moulded key that grips the point securely so you can turn it without chewing up the flats or your fingers.

Seconds, not a workshop

Slot the point into the key, turn, and it comes out. Turn the other way and the new one seats home. There is no heat, no glue and no vice involved, which is the whole point of a convertible system — you can change your setup between legs rather than between seasons. Bull's logo is embossed on one face and the CP logo on the other.

Spare, or replacement

One tool ships with every set of Bull's CP darts, so this is the one to buy if yours has gone missing from the case, or if you want a second to leave in a practice bag. It is small enough to live in a dart wallet pocket and be there when you need it.

What does the CP Points Tool actually do?

It unscrews and re-seats Bull's Convertible Points. The point has flats machined into it that the tool grips, so you can apply real turning force without rounding them off or hurting your fingers. Without it you are trying to grip a small steel point with pliers, which damages the point and usually the barrel thread too.

Do I need one if I already own CP darts?

Probably not — Bull's include a tool with every set of CP darts. This is sold separately as a spare or a replacement, which is what most people want it for: the original has usually vanished from the bottom of a case by the time you next need it.

Will it work with other brands' interchangeable points?

No. It is cut for the Bull's CP point profile specifically. Target's Swiss Point, Harrows Quick Point, Winmau's Switch Point and Mission's Rapid Point all use their own systems and their own keys — the threads and the flats are not interchangeable between brands.

Why would I want to change points at all?

Three common reasons. Length changes how far the dart sits into the board and shifts the balance slightly forward or back. Grip texture on the point gives front-grippers something to hold. And points blunt or bend eventually — with a convertible system you replace the point for a couple of pounds instead of the whole barrel.
