Description

Bull's DE - Ballista B1 - 70% Tungsten Darts

Ballista B1: the perfect starter dart

The Ballista is built for the ambitious beginner — a proper tungsten dart at an entry price, with a spec sheet more transparent than most premium sets. Bull's publish everything: the poly shaft with its aluminium ring weighs exactly 1.2g at 48mm, the 150-micron Metrixx flight weighs 0.7g and offers an extra-large 47cm² of surface area. If you're the kind of player who wants to understand your equipment from day one, this is the brand doing it properly. New to the game? Start with our best darts for beginners guide.

A forgiving 70% tungsten barrel with a guided grip

The stylish silver barrel carries the engraved Bull's logo and four blue rings colour-matched to the shaft and flight, with a pronounced grip section across the front and centre at a friendly medium (3/5) — exactly where a developing grip should sit. Bull's balanced the dart so its centre of gravity falls in the middle of the barrel, the most neutral and forgiving setup for learning a repeatable throw, and the slightly wider 6.9–7.1mm diameter gives new players confidence in the hand.

Modern looks, upgrade path built in

The transparent shaft with air-bubble inclusions and the big blue A-shape Metrixx flight give the Ballista a genuinely modern look — no beginner-set drabness here. When your game outgrows it, Bull's own ladder continues with the Artos AR1 at 80% tungsten and the long, slim Lightning Orange — and because the Ballista uses standard 2BA threads, every upgrade you make along the way fits.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included with the Bull's Ballista B1?

The set contains three Ballista B1 70% tungsten barrels with steel points, three blue Metrixx standard A-shape flights at 150 microns, and three transparent poly shafts with aluminium rings at 48mm.

Is the Ballista B1 good for beginners?

That's exactly its brief - 70% tungsten keeps the price accessible while the pronounced ring grip across the front and centre steadies your hold, and the centre weighting forgives an inconsistent release.

Why do the Ballista's dimensions change with weight?

Each weight scales the whole barrel: 21g at 6.9mm x 49mm, 23g at 7.0mm x 50mm and 25g at 7.1mm x 52mm - so heavier sets feel proportionally larger rather than just denser.

What's the difference between 70% and 90% tungsten?

Higher tungsten content packs the same weight into a slimmer barrel. At 70% the Ballista is slightly wider than a 90% dart of equal weight - no drawback for most improving players, and the durability is the same.
