Harrows Shop
Harrows started the same way we did — as a dart shop. In 1973 Jack Harris, his son Colin and business partner Ron Woodhead opened a small shop in Enfield, north London, selling darts over the counter and by post. The manufacturing began in a shed behind the premises. Five decades on it is one of the most widely distributed darts brands in the world, still making darts in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.
Built by the television boom
Harrows arrived exactly as darts hit British television in the 1970s, and grew with it. In 1985 the company signed Eric Bristow — at the time the largest player endorsement deal the sport had seen. Harrows were also founder members of the WDC, the body that became the PDC. That history is why the range still leans towards proper, unfussy playing darts rather than novelty.
Quick Point: the Harrows answer to changeable points
Barrels marked (QP) take Harrows Quick Points — threaded points you can change by hand tool rather than by pressing. Quick Point sits in the M2.5 thread family, the same family as Winmau and Red Dragon Switch Point and Target Swiss Point, so you are not locked into one brand's points once you own a QP barrel. Styles include HM Grip and Micro Ridge.
Where to start in the range
Harrows darts runs to over 60 sets. The Supergrip family is the classic aggressive-grip workhorse; at the other end, the Wolfram Trinity reaches 97.5% tungsten, about as dense as a production barrel gets. Between them sit the player signature series.
Round the setup out with Harrows flights — the extra-strong Marathon is the one to know — plus Carbon ST and 360 Spin stems, points, accessories, playing shirts and the Fortis and Quadro 240 boards. New arrivals sit in latest Harrows releases.
The Harrows professionals
Dave Chisnall, whose Chizzy Series runs to four generations here, plus Damon Heta, Ryan Searle and Luke Woodhouse.
Frequently Asked Questions
▶ What does (QP) mean on a Harrows dart?
Quick Point — the barrel is threaded to take interchangeable Harrows Quick Points, changed with a small tool instead of a repointing press.
▶ Will Quick Points fit non-Harrows barrels?
Quick Point belongs to the M2.5 thread family, which is shared with Switch Point and Swiss Point. Compatibility is generally good across M2.5 systems, but check the specific barrel before ordering rather than assuming.
▶ Is 97.5% tungsten worth it over 90%?
It buys you a slimmer barrel at the same weight, which helps when you are regularly putting three darts into one treble. If you are not grouping that tightly yet, the money is better spent elsewhere in your setup.
▶ What makes Marathon flights different?
They are made from a heavier-duty material than a standard flight, so they survive being struck for longer. Popular with players who practise a lot and get through flights quickly.
