Sereno G3: Toru Suzuki's Andes-inspired scallop barrel

Sereno means serene, and three generations in, Toru Suzuki's signature line still leads with composure rather than aggression. The G3 takes its cue from the Andes of Peru — a nod to Suzuki's Peruvian roots — and turns that idea into a barrel that feels settled in the hand: quiet, deliberate, and strong from the inside out. Where the Sereno G2 ran a conventional tapered profile and the 95% tungsten G1 kept things deliberately plain, the G3 is the first in the series to commit to a properly sculpted shape.

New scallop profile locks the rear grip into the same place every throw

The headline change is the scallop: a concave sweep through the rear third that leaves a pronounced groove for the fingers to drop into. It does three useful things at once — it seats the hand in a repeatable spot without you having to look, it stops the fingers creeping forward between throws, and it channels swing energy straight down the barrel rather than letting it wander. Rear grippers will feel the benefit immediately; this is a barrel that finds its own position. At 47mm on the 22g and 50mm on the 24g, both weights hold a steady 7.5mm maximum diameter, so the step up in weight comes from length rather than girth.

Snowflake milling through the middle, deep ring cuts at the front

The centre section carries grooves cut to echo snowflakes on the Andean peaks — genuinely attractive detailing, but functional too, adding texture and feedback across the middle of the barrel where a lot of players make contact. Further forward, tightly packed deep ring cuts give front grippers something to hold without breaking up the clean line of the design. Target's signature decorative blue coating ties it together: cool, vivid and unmistakably Sereno, with a brightness that suits the mountain-air theme.
