Developed in pursuit of exceptional design and functionality by Keita Ono, the Solo G8 blends precision craftsmanship with a beautiful PVD purple coating — a refined, durable shine whose understated elegance stands apart at the oche. Note that natural variation in the coating process means each barrel's hue is subtly its own.

Shark cuts that grow toward your grip

The grip design is genuinely clever: shark cuts cover the rear section, increasing in size gradually from the end toward the middle — a graduated texture that anchors the hand, kills slippage and transmits power precisely, at an aggressive 4/5. Up front, three sets of ring cuts accommodate forward grips, so the meticulously machined, front-tapered barrel serves a wide range of holds. Dimensions climb with the weight across the range: 7.0mm x 48mm (23g), 7.2mm x 48mm (24g) and 7.4mm x 49mm (25g).

Industrial details, individual character

Keita Ono's signature logo is engraved at the barrel's centre, flanked by a screw-style design on both sides — industrial-inspired details found nowhere else. The Solo G8 completes our Target Japan shelf's grip spectrum: at the smooth extreme sits the Muramatsu Rising Sun G8, with the Tung Suk Zenith holding the middle ground.
