Shot - Grip Steel Tip Points

A ringed point, in plain black

Shot's Grip point does exactly what the name says: a ringed grip section machined into the shank so there is texture where your fingers sit if you hold well forward. No livery, no theme - a black working point for players who want the grip without the artwork.

Cut to go in cleanly

Machined at Shot's factory in New Zealand and tested for smooth release, the profile is shaped to slip between the sisal fibres rather than force them apart. That means less deflection off a crowded treble and less wear on the board over time.

Two lengths

32mm keeps the weight back in the barrel; 35mm is the standard length most steel tip sets leave the factory on. If you have never changed a point, 35mm is the safe like-for-like.

Fitting

These are press-fit replacement points. The old point pushes out and the new one presses in with a repointing tool - not a job for pliers. They will not fit barrels made for screw-in or Quick Points.

Which point length should I choose?

A shorter point keeps the weight back in the barrel; a longer one pushes the balance forward and bites deeper into the board. Most steel tip darts ship on 32-35mm, so that is the safest like-for-like swap - go longer only if you want to shift the feel forward.

How do I fit replacement points?

Shot's steel points are a press fit, so the old point is pushed out and the new one pressed in - a job for a repointing tool rather than pliers, which will mark the barrel. If your barrels take a screw-in point or a Quick Point instead, these are not the right part.
