MVG Starter Darts Bundle - Aspire Darts + Armor G1 Case + Mega Standard Flights + Point Sharpener

MVG Starter Darts Bundle - Aspire Darts + Armor G1 Case + Mega Standard Flights + Point Sharpener

A first tungsten set, properly equipped

Four Winmau pieces: the MVG Aspire darts in 21g or 22g, the Armor G1 red case, a set of MVG green Mega Standard flights, and an MVG V-Groove point sharpener.

The sharpener is the part that teaches you something

Blunt points are the main cause of bounce-outs, and most new players never learn that points dull at all - they assume the dart is at fault, or their throw. A few seconds with a sharpener keeps the point biting the sisal instead of skating off the wire, and it is the single cheapest improvement to a frustrating session.

Why 80% tungsten is the right call here

It means a slightly wider barrel for the same weight than a 90% dart would be. That only starts to matter once you are grouping tightly enough to need the room in the treble bed - which is some way down the road from a first set. Until then it is a sensible trade for the price, and the Aspire is real tungsten rather than brass.
