Heavy Metal's second series

Ryan 'Heavy Metal' Searle throws some of the heaviest darts in the professional game, and the Series 2 is where his setup went next. Rather than reworking the Heavy Metal barrel again, Harrows started from the NX90 platform and rebuilt it around Ryan's own grip preferences — a different dart to his Series 1, aimed at players who want his weight range with a busier, more textured barrel.

Ringed, micro and scalloped cuts in one barrel

Three cut types share the 51mm tapered profile: ringed sections for a hard stop under the fingers, micro cuts for fine tactile feedback and scalloped bands for a smooth release. Together they land at a balanced 3/5 across the full length — grippy enough to hold a heavy dart, clean enough to let go of it. The width scales with the mass, from 6.90mm at 24g through 7.10mm at 26g, then stepping up to 7.90mm at 30g and 8.10mm at the mighty 32g. Every barrel is match weighed to ±0.05g.

Tri-tone finish, and the Quick Point tool in the box

The barrel is coated in black and red titanium nitride over natural tungsten, so the three tones read clearly down the length rather than blurring into one dark bar. Points are Harrows' Quick Point system — 26mm as supplied, and swappable by hand for a different length, colour or texture in seconds with no repointing tool needed. This is the full 13-piece set, so the premium Quick Point tool with integrated point storage comes with it, and you can change the feel of the front end entirely with HM Grip or Micro Ridge points.
